Chris began her life as a police cadet and then officer after leaving school. She went on to become a detective and worked across many departments including Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, CID, Major Crime, and for 8 years she was involved with protecting the Royal Family and those in Margaret Thatcher’s Government when they visited the Thames Valley. She met the Duchess of Kent on several occasions, as well as Princess Diana. She worked on the 7/7 London bombing and the 2012 Olympics before retiring into a civilian role. For 13 years she was a misconduct manager dealing with officers and staff who had allegedly misconducted themselves not only for Thames Valley Police, but for Hampshire Constabulary and the Metropolitan Police. Although Chris retired at the end of March 2025 and has trained as a wedding registrar, she returned to policing in August 2025 to assist in training her two replacements in the role of misconduct manager.
