Update and Amendment: Dates confirmed!

Introduction

Newbury u3a will be celebrating their 35th anniversary in October 2026. We hope to involve as many members as possible to acknowledge this milestone and participate in activities leading up to it.

We would like the focus of the celebration to be at the 2026 Open Morning where we can again show case the Activity Groups participating throughout the forthcoming year. There will be a display in Newbury Library and an opportunity to attend a formal lunch at Donnington Valley Hotel on October 30th , with a guest Speaker.

What does this mean for Newbury u3a members?

We would like you to think of ways to get involved and have some fun!

If you are in an Activity Group, then you may like work with your Group Leader and other group members to prepare something to share at the Open Morning on October 10th, 2026. If you have some other ideas, then let us know.

The Groups Coordinator and the Chair will be capturing all the output and will publish what you have done on a special page on the Newbury u3a website so that all members can share in what has been happening. This might be written documents, pamphlets, photographs of your group enjoying a celebratory activity or of items that you have created, music files – you can choose what you like!

Your contribution must have a theme based on ‘35’ and, ideally, can be stored digitally.

We will also have a display at Newbury Library for 2 weeks in November and at St. Nicolas Church Coffee Morning on December 10th.

If you have any u3a memorabilia or photographs etc then we would be very pleased to hear from you as we are looking for items to go in this display.
