Status:Active, open to new members
Group leader:
Group email: Art History 1 group
When: On Monday mornings 10:30 am-12:30 pm
1st Monday
Venue: St Georges Church - Large Meeting Room

This informal, friendly group meets once a month (1st Monday) at St Georges Church, Wash Common, in the Large Hall. We do not follow a chronological line and have included contemporary artists and photographers over the past three years, as well as themes (e.g. 'Humour in art') that are of interest to the group members. We occasionally go on outings to visit art exhibitions and galleries and enjoy going for a festive lunch at a local venue at Christmas.

We each take it in turns to lead the meeting - this usually takes the form of a short talk which can be supported by printed research materials, articles in books etc. and if available, a relevant DVD or clips from You Tube.

No Art History experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to research your chosen artist or theme and a willingness to engage in the discussion!

  • VENUE: St Georges Church, Wash Common
  • WHEN: First Monday in the month.
