Activity: Art of Photography

Location: Broadway House, Newbury

When: Fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 until 11:30

Description: The Photography group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, for about one-and-a-half hours. We use a projector and a large screen to view our photos. At present we are able to accommodate new U3A members wanting to join this group. Our photography ability continues to improve but complete novices remain welcome of course.

To start our session, professional photographer, Roger Ryton LBIPP LRPS gives us a talk which is part of a series running over a year, on the art of taking better photos and encouragement to understand our cameras more fully. We then view the photos that each of the members has taken on the topic of that month, with Roger giving us constructive comments and advice. The perfect photo eludes us mostly, so we all enjoy the learning process. The next month's topic is then briefly introduced. Group members send up to 3 photos in by e-mail, prior to their next meeting.
